WDW Guide - Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide

The death of Walt Disney took a major toll on Walt Disney Productions, and WED Enterprises in 1966. His passing was untimely and in the middle of the most aggressive expansion his company has seen since opening Disneyland in 1955. Plans were well underway for a second theme park destination. A complete mystery to the rest of the world, Walt had overseen the acquisition of just over 27,000 acres of swampland in Central Florida where it was his intention to reinvent Disneyland but on a much larger scale. It would be called "Disney World," and would feature a Magic Kingdom, in the likeness of Disneyland in California, and EPCOT Center, which would be an "Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow." The Magic Kingdom was completed and opened with the first phase of Disney World in 1971, under the supervision of Walt's brother, Roy Disney, who insisted that the property be renamed "Walt Disney World," to stand as a permanent legacy of his visionary sibling. The Magic Kingdom has gone on to become arguably the most beloved theme park in Florida, continuing to closely resemble Disneyland in California. There are differences, but the resemblance remains strong. The items that remain identical between the two parks are the spirit, showmanship and true vision that define the Disney theme park brand name. Welcome to The Magic Kingdom, as Roy Disney stated on October 25, 1971, "a Magic Kingdom where the young at heart of all ages can laugh, and play, and learn... together."

The Magic Kingdom attraction guide lists and describes every attraction in the park. Every eating and shopping location is also listed. All attractions are rated on a scale from 1 to 4, 4 being best. Attractions are rated relative to one another, so even a low rated Disney attraction might be better than many attractions outside of Disney. Ratings are very subjective so please do not use them as your only criteria when planning your visit.

The Magic Kingdom is divided into seven themed lands:

In addition, The Magic Kingdom has entertainment throughout the park.
