Kellogg Canada today launched its national "Find the Golden Mickey Mouse" contest - challenging families across Canada to find one of 10 Golden Mickey Mouse Mini Bobble Heads hidden in specially-marked boxes of Kellogg's(*) Marshmallow Froot Loops(*), Kellogg's(*) Raisin Bran(*) and Kellogg's(*) Mini Wheats(*) cereals. The ten lucky people can win a family vacation for four to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, worth approximately $6,500.
The nationwide contest was kicked-off in Toronto at Sherway Gardens mall, where 100 participants were given a chance to win if they found the Golden Mickey Mouse hidden in 1 of 100 boxes of Kellogg's(*) Raisin Bran(*) cereal. Participants were asked one-by-one to empty their box of cereal into a giant bowl and whoever found the Golden Mickey Mouse won a trip to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The national on-pack promotion runs for a limited time only in grocery stores across the country.
"What is especially exciting about this promotion is that it gives 10 lucky Kellogg consumers across Canada a chance to win," says Christine Lowry, Vice President Nutrition and Corporate Affairs at Kellogg Canada. "Not to mention, with March Break just around the corner, these wins may give these Canadian families the vacation of a lifetime!"
The on-pack contest is part of a larger promotional partnership between Kellogg Canada and The Walt Disney Company that includes offering a selection of Walt Disney World Mini Bobble Heads in-pack. For a limited time only, kids from across Canada will be able to bring home the magic of Disney by collecting four of their favourite Walt Disney World Mini Bobble head classic characters - Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy - in specially-marked boxes of Mickey's Magix(*), Kellogg's(*) Frosted Flakes, Kellogg's(*) Froot Loops(*) and Kellogg's(*) Rice Krispies(*) cereals.
The bobble head revival has been a huge success in both Canada and the U.S. One of these brightly coloured classic Disney characters can be found in each box of participating cereal brands. Consumers can also purchase the set of four by mailing in three cereal tokens, found on the side of the participating cereals and $4.99 (plus shipping and handling).+
"These two unique promotions exemplify Kellogg Canada's ongoing commitment to enhancing the value of our breakfast cereals to our consumers, over and above their great taste and nutritional value," continues Ms. Lowry. "We're hoping to add a little Disney magic to everyone's morning breakfast table."
