Young Stars of TV, Film and Music Perform Holiday Classics On New Compilations MY CHRISTMAS DREAM and WILD CHRISTMAS
Bright young stars shine on two new holiday
compilations featuring recordings of Christmas classics and contemporary
originals. MY CHRISTMAS DREAM and WILD CHRISTMAS (Hip-O Records), each released
September 23, 2003, spotlight 11 selections apiece from a new generation's most
talented television, film and music stars.
One track on each album makes its debut: Knockout's "I Wish Every Day Were
Christmas" on MY CHRISTMAS DREAM and Lindsay Felton's "Our First Christmas
Together" on WILD CHRISTMAS. Three tracks from the latter album made notable
previous appearances: "Wild Christmas" from Chris Trousdale of Dream Street was
featured on "Dawson's Creek" and reached #2 on Radio Disney's Christmas Day 2002
chart of top songs; "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" from Lynsey Bartilson
(Lily Finnerty on "Grounded For Life") was also heard on "Dawson's Creek," and
"One Small Voice," performed by Taylor Momsen (Cindy Lou Who in THE GRINCH WHO
STOLE CHRISTMAS and star of SPY KIDS 2: ISLAND OF LOST DREAMS and HANSEL &
GRETEL), Myra (singer of the hit song in THE PRINCESS DIARIES) and Camille
Winbush (Vanessa on "The Bernie Mac Show") was heard on "The Bernie Mac Show."
MY CHRISTMAS DREAM brings together budding pop superstars Trousdale with "Kissless
Christmas," Knockout with "Voice Of An Angel" and Myra with "Christmas Isn't
Christmas (Since You Said Goodbye)." From the film/TV side are Raven ("Cosby
Show" and star of Disney's "That's So Raven") with "My Christmas Dream," Daveigh
Chase (Lilo's voice in LILO AND STITCH) with "A Holly Jolly Christmas,"
Bartilson with "This Christmas I Will Give My Love To You," Momsen with "Rudolph
The Red-Nosed Reindeer," Felton (Caitlin on "Caitlin's Way" and featured in
GRIND) with "Our First Christmas Together," Evan Rachel Wood (Jessie on "Once
And Again" and star of THIRTEEN) with "Silver And Gold," Mae Whitman (Grace on
"State Of Grace") with "You Make Christmas Feel So Good" and Arvie Lowe Jr. (Mr.
Dig on "Lizzie McGuire") with "This Christmas I Want To Be Close To You."
WILD CHRISTMAS features many of the same artists. Trousdale sings the title
track, Knockout "I Wish Every Day Were Christmas" and Myra "Very First Christmas
Love." Bartilson reprises the Brenda Lee perennial "Rockin' Around The Christmas
Tree," Raven unwraps "My Christmas Wish," Wood sings "Christmas Isn't Christmas
Without You" and Whitman reprises the chestnut "I Heard The Bells On Christmas
Day."
Artists heard only on WILD CHRISTMAS are Winbush with "The Night Before Christmas Song," Ashlee Simpson ("7th Heaven" regular and younger sister of pop star Jessica) with "Christmas Past, Present And Future," and Tahj Mowry (younger brother of "Sister Sister" twins Tia and Tamera, and former star of "Full House" and "Smart Guy") with "Shine Your Light On Me."
If Christmas is for kids, then MY CHRISTMAS DREAM and WILD CHRISTMAS are gifts of holiday music from kids to kids
