“Aladdin’s Whole New World?
Venue: Mediterranean Harbor
Duration: Approximately 30 minutes
Performances: Twice daily
“Aladdin’s Whole New World? is a wondrous entertainment program filled with
magic, comedy and adventure. It will be presented on the waters of Mediterranean
Harbor and features the characters from the Disney film Aladdin.
The show begins in Mediterranean Harbor, where the Guests await the arrival of
Aladdin and his party on their journey from Agrabah. The festive mood is
heightened by fun activities such as dance lessons for the Guests, and then soon
the familiar tune of “A Whole New World? rings out and Aladdin and his friends
make their entrance riding in a gorgeous waterborne parade.
As the Sultan starts his speech celebrating the group’s arrival, the music takes
on an eerie tone. Suddenly, the Grand Vizier Jafar appears aboard an
evil-looking ship and gleefully interrupts the ceremony. When Jafar and his
followers move to surround Aladdin and his pals’ ships, Aladdin has to figure a
way out his predicament and of course thinks of the magic lamp!
The Genie’s distinctive voice begins to reverberate throughout Mediterranean
Harbor, then the Genie himself finally makes his appearance. Ignoring the
intense, highly charged atmosphere, the lively Genie declares that instead of a
battle, the two sides should settle their differences by playing water games.
The two opposing camps then begin competing in a variety of free-style jet
vehicle performances, thrilling powerboat races and comical pedal-boat battles
that are sure to be enjoyed by all the guests.
Sensing an opportunity though, Jafar and his minions begin a treacherous attack
on Aladdin and his friends. However, with the help of the guests’ dancing and
cheering, the good guys gain a glorious victory.
Jafar, of course, does not accept defeat graciously. As the games finish, the
magician transforms himself into a giant snake and attacks Aladdin and his group
in the midst of their victory celebrations. Sensing danger, Aladdin once again
calls for the guests’ help, and together they handily defeat the tricky
sorcerer. To celebrate the victory, Aladdin and Jasmine then take a ride on the
magic carpet, drifting through the air over the harbor as fountains and
pyrotechnics create a spectacular finale.
Shows are subject to change or cancellation due to inclement weather, etc.
