Disney Publishing Sprinkles Fairy Dust on New Children's Book
From tales of hobbits, trolls and wizards to...fairies!
That's right the next big thing, according to Disney, will be fairies. At the opening of the Bologna International Children's Book Fair, the company has announced its plans to introduce an illustrated children's novel, Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg, based around one of the most famous fairies of all time, Tinker Bell.
This modern fairy tale is being penned by Newbery-Honor winner and best-selling author of Ella Enchanted, Gail Carson Levine, and has taken inspiration from JM Barrie's Peter Pan. Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg will introduce readers to Tinker Bell's home, Fairy Haven, and all of her fairy friends.
Disney Publishing Worldwide says that the book will serve as the literary cornerstone for Disney Fairies, a whole collection of stories aimed at young girls and is supported by more than US$1 million marketing budget. This is the Publisher's first simultaneous global book launch, as the book is expected to hit stores this Autumn in more than 40 countries worldwide.
