Online Debut set for March 20; On-Air Debut March 28
(March 17, 2009) Disney Channel stars Mitchel Musso ("Hannah Montana" and "Phineas and Ferb") and Tiffany Thornton ("Sonny With A Chance") perform the new high-energy pop dance song, "Let It Go," from the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie, "Hatching Pete," in a music video to debut SATURDAY, MARCH 28 (7:20 p.m. ET/PT) on Disney Channel. Leading up to the television debut, the handclapping, chanting song will be available exclusively online at www.Disney.com/MusicVideos and mark its debut on Radio Disney on March 20.
"Let It Go" was written by Ali Dee Theodore, Alana Da Fonsecca, Vinny Alfieri, Julian Davis and Sarai Howard, and the video was directed by Alex Kalsey and Max Gutierrez.
In "Hatching Pete," Pete Ivey is a quiet and often overlooked 16-year-old who must substitute for his outgoing best friend Cleatus Poole when Cleatus cannot complete his duties as their high school mascot, a chicken. The chicken mascot, with Pete anonymously behind the mask, soon becomes the main attraction at school, but no one knows it is not Cleatus in the suit. Once it’s revealed that Cleatus is not in the costume, it is up to Pete to decide if he is willing to step into the spotlight. Starring are: Jason Dolley ("Cory in the House" and "Minutemen"); Mitchel Musso; Tiffany Thornton; Josie Loren ("17 Again"); and Brian Stepanek ("The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" and "Brian O'Brian"). The movie was written by Paul W. Cooper ("Murder, She Wrote," "Little House on the Prairie"), and was directed and co-produced by Stuart Gillard (Disney Channel's "Twitches" and "Twitches Too").
