While most people think of kids and families on a Disney Cruise Line vacation, it is important to note that there are many places for adults to find quiet time and really relax. This is important for those adults looking for a getaway or for parents seeking to find short adult moments on the ship while the kids are having fun with their own activities. While I cant promise you will never see a child or a character while on a Disney Cruise, I want to assure you that you can find solace in these adult-only areas.

One of my favorite spots is the Cove Caf. It is located on Deck 9 and 11 of the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder Cruise Ships, respectively. It will also be on Deck 11 of the new Disney Dream Cruise Ship. It caters only to guests 18 and up and offers a caf feel with specialty coffees and drinks available for purchase. There is also a case of sweet treats you can help yourself to! There is a large screen TV and wireless internet available. In fact, it brought me back to reality when I noticed CNN on the TV and I was able to catch up on some of the headlines. If you want to stay in vacation mode (and not know what is going on in the real world!), you can browse the books available to swap out or just enjoy your fancy coffee out on the deckor just change the channel! Please note that smoking is allowed on the deck outside the Cove Caf (cigar smoking included).

Just outside the Cove Caf you will find the adult pool area called the Cove. This pool area does not allow kids so it tends to be a bit quieter. You will also find two hot tubs in this area. This is a great area to catch sun during the day or wind down at night.

If you like to be pampered, all the Disney Cruise Line ships offer full-service spas. The Disney Magic also offers private spa villas. These luxury suite areas can be reserved for one guest or for couples to share a private spa experience. Another area I enjoyed was the Tropical Rain Forest at the Vista Spa and Salon. I went at a quiet time and was able to enjoy the scented steam rooms, rainfall showers, and heated tile chairs. How relaxing! The spa on the Disney Dream is called Senses and the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder both offer the Vista Spa and Salon

Finally, my favorite adult area would have to be dining at Palo. This adult-only restaurant requires reservations and I would recommend making reservations as soon as you can although they can sometimes be made while onboard. (Reserved exclusively for Guests 18 and over, reservations required and a service fee is added per person.) Palo features Northern Italian cuisine and offers dinner daily and will offer brunch on sea days. The Magic also offers a high tea on sea days. While the food and service is amazing, the ocean view from Palo cannot be beat!

While these are just some of my favorite adult-only areas offered by Disney Cruise Line ships, there is more to discover including the night clubs onboard, and Serenity Bay Beach at Castaway Cay There is also special programming and activities offered to adults only. Be sure to check your Personal Navigator daily to see what might interest you! While you are likely a kid at heart as a Disney fan, we all need some adult time and Disney offers some spectacular ways to enjoy adult time on board a Disney Cruise Line vacation Your MouseEarVacations.com Travel Specialist can help you reserve your next magical vacation.
