Wall-E at Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre with "Flights of Fantasy" Stage Show ()

Hollywood’s legendary El Capitan Theatre celebrates the arrival of Disney/Pixar’s thrilling and hilarious new computer-animated comedy-adventure, “WALL•E,” with a state-of-the-art digital cinema presentation, a live stage show (Disney’s Flight of Fantasy) and a special NASA and JPL space exploration display throughout its special engagement from June 27th to August 27th, it was announced today by Lylle Breier, senior vice president, worldwide special events for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

2008 Disneyland Half Marathon (DL)
Sunday, August 31
The Disneyland® Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, August 31, 2008 and is scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m. The race begins at the Anaheim Convention Center and weaves through Disney's California Adventure, Disneyland, Angel Stadium and concludes at Disney's California Adventure. All participants must be at least 14 years old and and able to maintain a 16-minute per mile pace throughout the race, completing the Half Marathon in three and a half (3.5) hours or less.

The Walt Disney Family Museum Project To Open (DL,WDW,OD,Movies,Coll,General)
August 2009
The Walt Disney Family Museum Project will be located in the Presidio of San Francisco and will comprise three historic buildings: a 59,000 square foot museum; a 17,000 square foot building housing archive, administrative and additional exhibition facilities; and a 1,195 square foot mechanical plant facility. The museum is a family endeavor and will tell the story of Walt Disney's life through 10 galleries using a mix of different media, state of the art technology, and the personal effects of the family and its historic objects. Although some items will be licensed from the Disney Company, the Disney Company is not involved in the project. The museum is expected to open in August 2009, with the additional galleries coming on-line in 2011.

MLB's All-Star Game at Anaheim's Edison Field (DL)

During the week of July 13th Major League Baseball will host a variety of events at Edison Field in Anaheim CA in celebration of the 2010 All Star Game. Hundreds of thousands are expected to attend the festivities near Disneyland which could impact housing availability and cost as well as theme park attendance.
