A series of art exhibits that showcase the world of Disney including a Disney film show at Cinema Ikspiari and exhibits at Tokyo Disneyland Park, Tokyo DisneySea Park, the Disney Resort Line monorail, and at the Disney Ambassador Hotel. Crab-Catching Stars of TV's 'Deadliest Catch' Slated to Appear at Epcot (WDW)

The Norway pavilion at Epcot will host Sig Hansen -- one of the featured stars on the popular reality series on The Discovery Channel, "The Deadliest Catch" -- for an in-park appearance July 10-13, 2008. Hansen will appear inside The Puffin's Roost, the pavilion's merchandise location, each day. He will be joined by his brothers, Edgar and Norman Hansen, who also appear on the show.
A fourth-generation Norwegian fisherman, Sig Hansen is the captain of the Northwestern, one of the crab-catching vessels on "The Deadliest Catch." He, Edgar and Norman own and operate the Northwestern. Based in Seattle, Wash., the Hansens have fished together for nearly 20 years.
The Hansens' crab-catching skills on the television show also have inspired "Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm," a video game for the Xbox 360 system.
In addition to signing autographs and posing for photos, the Hansens will have Northwestern merchandise for sale during their Epcot appearance.

Disney Magic Sets Sail To FL Through the Panama Canal (WDW)

Beginning May 25, 2008, the Disney Magic is scheduled to sail 12 consecutive seven-night cruise vacations from the Port of Los Angeles to the Mexican Riviera ports of Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta. In addition to the 12 Mexican Riviera cruises, Disney Cruise Line will offer two 15-night repositioning cruises through the Panama Canal. The Disney Magic will depart Port Canaveral and head west on May 10, 2008, with the return cruise to Florida scheduled for Aug. 17, 2008.

The Disneyland® Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, August 31, 2008 and is scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m. The race begins at the Anaheim Convention Center and weaves through Disney's California Adventure, Disneyland, Angel Stadium and concludes at Disney's California Adventure. All participants must be at least 14 years old and and able to maintain a 16-minute per mile pace throughout the race, completing the Half Marathon in three and a half (3.5) hours or less.

Disney’s Expedition Everest Challenge presented by Champion is the first urban adventure race among Disney’s Endurance Series, offering a rare combination of physical and mental challenges that will require competitors to be quick on their feet – literally and figuratively. The nighttime event, which debuts Sept. 27 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, will begin with a 5K run through the theme park, then transition to a fun obstacle course and finish with a scavenger hunt that will require a “passport,” creating the ultimate test of physical stamina as well as intellectual endurance along with a traditional dose of Disney magic.

Willner’s historic compilation of music from the Vintage Disney Songbook features work by an eclectic range of artists from Suzanne Vega and Los Lobos to Ringo Starr and Bonnie Raitt. The soon-to-be-announced lineup will include many of the album’s original performers in this one-time-only event. Best known for a groundbreaking series of multi-artist tribute albums interpreting the work of composers such as Nino Rota, Kurt Weill and Thelonious Monk, Willner set out to match surprising material with extraordinary musicians from the nether regions of pop, rock, jazz and the avant-garde. The concert features a mix of enchanting, moody and, at times, sardonic adaptations of tunes from The Jungle Book, Snow White, Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio, and more. The concert will take place on October 30th at 8p at UCLA's Royce Hall.
