Nine Day Engagement of Sing-Along Mary Poppins at Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre Begins April 13th

Sing-Along 'Mary Poppins' Returns to Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre for Special Nine-Day Spring Fling Beginning April 13th

It's a jolly holiday at Hollywood's historic El Capitan Theatre starting on April 13th as the sing-along version of Walt Disney's Academy Award®-winning classic "Mary Poppins" returns for a special nine-day engagement, it was announced April 10th by Lylle Breier, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Special Events for Buena Vista Pictures Distribution. For this interactive presentation, a restored 35mm Dolby Stereo print of the classic 1964 film has been customized with on-screen lyrics of all the songs so that audiences can join in the fun by singing along.

Additionally, Mary Poppins herself will introduce the show at each performance. Moviegoers are encouraged to dress as their favorite character from the film — the practically perfect Mary Poppins, Bert the charismatic chimney-sweep, laugh-loving Uncle Albert, stuffy Mr. Banks, the long-suffering Suffragette Mrs. Banks, the kindly bird woman, a penguin waiter or the precise Admiral Boom. Prizes for best costume will be awarded at each show.

Commenting on the announcement, Breier said, "The El Capitan Theatre is a premiere venue for family entertainment in Los Angeles and the 'Mary Poppins' sing-along is an audience favorite. We were overjoyed at just how popular this one-of-a-kind event turned out to be last year, and we're happy to be bringing back this special event. 'Mary Poppins' is still one of the best films that our Studio ever made and has quickly moved into the realm of classic. So warm up those vocal chords, put on your Victorian-era costume, and get ready for a real 'jolly holiday."'
