Downtown Disney ‘Trucks on the Town’ Food Truck Event

As part of the lead in to the Disney Springs Food Truck park coming later this summer, this past Saturday Downtown Disney hosted 14 different food trucks.

Coming from the land of food truck meets, Southern California, this event was nothing new but it was very new to DTD. The food trucks were mostly local trucks which had a good variety but nothing stood out. The 4 “parks” food trucks and the ESPM Wide World of Sports trucks seemed to have a steady line most of the other trucks were hit and miss.

While Food Truck meets are not a new thing, Food Truck Bazar has turned it into a organized thing.

As I said the event was a first of its kind at DTD which I hope they learned from, it was from 5pm – 10pm and the first few hours were during the prime of the summer heat, the trucks were not very well organized which lead to walking in a few circles, and the options were just ok. I was visiting with a friend who has food allergies and no truck really called out options for her and in this day and age I feel like a vegetarian if not a vegan food truck should always be a must at these type of events.

If you have never been to a food truck meet it was a fun event, if you have it was along the lines of a small one. But I do look forward to the future of the Westside Food Truck Park and what that will bring!
