Disneyland Paris Halloween 2014

Disneyland Paris recent financial problems have been very well publicized in recent weeks. Attendance has dropped without the necessary funds available to offer new attractions. One answer to this problem is to improve and expand its seasonal events. In 2014 a new Spring event was offered. Other events like Christmas have also been improved with the addition of brand new offerings. The trend continues with Halloween. Long gone are the ghastly pink witches and tacky misplaced decorations which many of us were puzzled with and felt was wrong for a Disney Park. In its place is an improved Disney inspired Halloween event which stays true to the Disney traditions.
Character Greetings can be found though out the park featuring the Disney Characters in some very cute Halloween costumes. Maleficent and the rest of the Disney villains have taken over the Castle courtyard area. And both Jack Skeleton and Sally can be found posing for photos and autographs in Frontierland.

A few limited food and merchandise items featuring the Disney Parks logo can be found in select restaurants and stores across the Park.  A few musicians can also be found playing some haunting sounds.
While these offerings are nice it’s the decorations and the daily Halloween Cavalcade that truly impress. The decorations vary depending on where you are inside the Park. Main Street you are greeted by the Ghostly residents of the town. The Halloween touches are extensive and easily match the standard we enjoyed last month at the Tokyo Disney Resort  Parks. The Ghosts even make sounds and talk. All lamplights have all been replaced with orange and green colors. It has made Main Street a really fun area to soak up the Halloween atmosphere and enjoy various photo opportunities. Over in Frontierland, the Pumpkin Men have taken over and really fit in with the theming of the land. A Nightmare Before Christmas score plays in the background.
Mickey’s Halloween Celebration Cavalcade performs three times daily and features three floats and plenty of Characters and performers. New this year is a float with Horace, Clarabelle and the Three Little Pigs. It’s my understanding that Disneyland Paris plans to add a new float each year to the line up. The Cavalcade has plenty of rare Characters and a very addictive soundtrack.
