Conan O’Brien Returning to Host the 98th Oscars in 2026

The beloved comedian made an impact and is already confirmed to be back for a second year hosting the ceremony.

After a successful first time hosting the ceremony, Conan O’Brien will return to host The Oscars in 2026.

What’s Happening:

  • Known for his late-night talk shows, beloved comedian Conan O’Brien hosted the Oscars for the first time this year – which delivered a five-year high in total viewers.
  • O’Brien joked about his return, saying, “the only reason I’m hosting The Oscars next year is that I want to hear Adrien Brody finish his speech."
  • Prior to his more than two-decade-long hosting career, O’Brien served as a writer for Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons. O’Brien currently hosts the podcast Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend and recently starred in the 2024 travel show Conan O’Brien Must Go. He has won five Primetime Emmys and earned 31 nominations for his work.
  • Alongside O’Brien, the 98th Oscars will also see the return of event producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan, as well as Jeff Ross and Mike Sweeney as producers, with Sweeney also serving as a writer.
  • The 98th Oscars will air live on ABC Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 7 p.m. EDT/4 p.m. PDT.
