"Star Wars: Hunters" Free-to-Play Video Game Ending This Fall, Final Content Update Coming In April
The game will have only lasted about 16 months.
Today is a sad day for fans of the Star Wars: Hunters free-to-play combat game, as its developer/publisher Zynga announced that the game will go offline permanently this fall. However, Hunters will be getting one final update next month before it goes away forever.
What’s happening:
- Star Wars: Hunters will be “sunsetting" on October 1st of this year. According to Zynga, that means the game will no longer be available to play in any mode, as its servers will be shut down. The game first launched in June of 2024, after a delay of multiple years.
- A final content update for the game will be made available for free on Tuesday, April 15th. This update will introduce a new support hunter named Tuya– a Rutian (blue) member of the Twi’lek species– plus additional in-game content.
- Until then, season 5 has been extended by three weeks, during which Zynga will re-run events and shop bundles. The ranked season will also be extended, “giving players more time to hit Kyber 1 rank."
What they’re saying:
- Zynga: “We understand this news may be disappointing and want to assure you that this decision was not made lightly. Your passion and dedication to the game and its community have meant the world to us, and we are committed to providing visibility and updates throughout the transition process. Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey and for the time you’ve spent playing Star Wars: Hunters."
