New McKim’s Mile House Lounge Opening Later Today to DVC Members at the Magic Kingdom

Named after Disney Legend Sam McKim, the new lounge takes over the old location of the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade.

McKim’s Mile House, the brand-new Disney Vacation Club lounge at the Magic Kingdom, will open to members for the first time today, March 18th.

What’s Happening:

  • After getting a preview inside the brand-new DVC lounge for ourselves yesterday, we learned that the lounge will open to members at 11:00 a.m. today, March 18th.
  • This surprise opening is much earlier than the originally stated summer opening date, which is sure to be a benefit for any DVC members visiting the Walt Disney World Resort soon.
  • McKim’s Mile House takes over the space of the former Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, which closed back in July 2024.
  • The name serves as a reference to Disney Legend Sam McKim, who prior to working on a number of early Disneyland attractions, was an actor in many western films.

  • Featuring rustic charm inspired by the adventurous spirit of exploration of a bygone era, the lounge offers a cozy and convenient retreat for members to share stories and recharge during their day of fun.
  • As with other similar DVC lounges, McKim’s Mile House features:
    • Comfortable seating
    • Complimentary soft drinks
    • A children's entertainment area
    • Wi-Fi
    • Charging cords available upon request on a first-come, first-served basis
  • The lounge will be open to members daily from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission details can be found at DisneyVacationClub.com.
