Outgoing Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock Sends Farewell Letter to Cast Members
Outgoing Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock has shared a letter to cast members as he prepares to move on to a new role.
What’s Happening:
- Earlier this year, it was announced that Ken Potrock would move on from his role as President of the Disneyland Resort into the newly created role of President, The Walt Disney Company Major Events Integration.
- In this role, Potrock will be responsible for developing comprehensive, cross-company plans to maximize the value of large-scale sports, entertainment and tourism events ranging from the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics to the 250th Anniversary of the nation.
- As the time has now come for Potrock to depart the Disneyland Resort, he has shared a letter emailed to cast members thanking them for “an incredible five years!"
- In the letter, Potrock recounts the challenges and joys of his role over the last five years, while highlighting the achievement of DisneylandForward and various charity and housing efforts.
- Potrock’s old role will be taken over by Thomas Mazloum, where he will lead more than 36,000 cast members and oversee the operation of two theme parks, three resort hotels, and the Downtown Disney District, and will guide the Disneyland Resort through a new era of growth with the recent approval of DisneylandForward.
- Prior to this move, Mazloum was President of Disney Signature Experiences and will continue to report to D’Amaro.

Ken Potrock’s Farewell Letter:
“As I move on from my role as President of the beloved Disneyland Resort, I’m reflecting on what an honor and privilege it has been to work alongside you to make a positive impact in Anaheim, Orange County and the greater Southern California region.
When I first arrived at Disneyland Resort in May 2020, we were sadly closed with just a few cast members on property. All our businesses, organizations and cities were experiencing massive upheaval in light of the pandemic.
But we worked collaboratively and passionately together … and The Happiest Place on Earth got happy again – better and stronger than before. It’s incredible to see what we’ve accomplished and, even more exciting, what truly great things lay ahead.
From the Buena Esperanza and Finamore Place affordable housing projects to the myriad of Disney VoluntEARS events, from our annual CHOC Walks to hundreds of Wishes fulfilled, from workforce development programs and enormous job creation, to the approval of the monumental DisneylandForward project … we’ve done so much good together.
Being President of the Disneyland Resort has truly been the opportunity of a lifetime, and I leave this place a different person, having experienced the best and proudest years of my career with all of you. I am extraordinarily grateful for your partnership and confident in your continued support and vision for our community’s future.
I look forward to connecting with many of you in my new role as President, Major Events Integration, The Walt Disney Company, where I will focus on creating “opportunities out of possibilities" for our entire company (including Disneyland Resort) with major events in California and throughout the country – events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup, 2027 Super Bowl and 2028 Summer Olympics all in Southern California, as well as national events like the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026.
And I can think of no one better than my dear friend, Thomas Mazloum – who has led Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, Adventures by Disney and many other businesses – to lead the amazing Disneyland Resort team and join you on the incredible journey ahead.
The culture that we’ve created has been built on trust, integrity, and collaboration – all values that Thomas shares as well.
We have a great, big, beautiful tomorrow in front of us. As Disneyland Resort gets ready for its 70th Celebration this summer – seven decades of working together to make a difference – how exciting to know that our best days are still ahead.
To our bright future,
Ken Potrock
President, Disneyland Resort"
