Photos: Voyage of the Little Mermaid Billboard Removed at Hollywood Studios
"So long, lover boy!"
The large billboard hanging outside of the former Voyage of the Little Mermaid show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been removed. A reimagined version of the show is set to premiere this summer.
What’s Happening:
- Disney is preparing to once again invite guests to be a part of the world of The Little Mermaid.
- Voyage of The Little Mermaid, a musical stage show that had been delighting guests since 1992, never reopened after the COVID-19 closures of 2020.
- However, Disney has a new undersea voyage up their sleeve.
- The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure is set to debut this summer, and work on the soundstage building reached a new milestone with the removal of the giant, sunbleached billboard that advertised the former attraction.
- Back in January, we reported that Voyage of The Little Mermaid’s marquee had been removed. With both missing, the only remnants of the shuttered stage show lie within the topiaries outside the queuing area.
- For reference, here’s pics of the now removed marquee and billboard.
- Cutting-edge digital technology will be used in the new show, which will include two songs not featured in the prior iteration – “Daughters of Triton" and “Kiss the Girl."
- Earlier this year, Disney shared a look at some of the puppets created for the new show.
- The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure is set to open this summer at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
