Epic Entertainment:

  • Universal Orlando has released a new episode of the Discover Universal Podcast diving into the incredible entertainment offerings coming to Epic Universe.
  • Just over two months out from the park’s official grand opening, Brian and Cassie sit down with Kathrynn DiGenova, Senior Show Producer at Universal Creative, to explore the over 30 different entertainment experiences coming to the Epic Universe’s five immersive lands.
  • Sharing more about what type of entertainment fans can expect throughout the park, DiGenova states that the biggest factor in a successful entertainment program is diversity.
  • In meeting the need for an Epic entertainment program, the park will host musicians, meet and greets, dancers, and so much more.
  • Through each land’s individual identity, Universal Creative was able to bring in a huge pool of talented people to help these world’s come to life.
  • Epic is leveraging a lot of new technology for the new park to elevate the immersion of these experiences. Elevating what theme park fans already know and love, the goal with these new offerings is to create authenticity.
  • Throughout the 41 minute episode, they explore Epic Universe through each land. Check out the highlights below.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic

  • Located in Place Cachee, the land is one of the Wizarding World’s most robust hubs.
  • Le Cirque Arcanus
    • One of the two large-scale shows coming to the park.
    • Aerial, puppetry, and big dynamic sets will play a huge role in the experience
    • DiGenova promises theatrical magic never seen before in a theme park.
    • The small circus tent kicks off an illusion similar to the tent scene in Goblet of Fire.
    • The Universal Team set out to embrace circus acts equally to the magical creatures found in the Fantastic Beasts series.
    • Created to include people who may not know much about Harry Potter.
    • Promised to be a big surprise for the park.
  • Students from schools like Beaubaton, Hogwarts, and Ilvermorny will be seen exploring the land.
  • An auror (essentially a Wizard police officer) will question guests near the entrance of the French Ministry of Magic.
  • Cosme Acajor, a famous French wandmaker, will also be around the land interacting with guests. Differing from Olivander, the character appears like the head of a fashion house.
  • Throughout the land, guests will be able to speak with portraits for the first time. While these moving paintings can be found throughout the other Wizarding World lands, this will be the first time guests will be able to interact with the framed characters.
  • The wand program will also see significant enhancements, which have begun being implemented throughout the resort.
  • A trio of street musicians will delight guests with a magical surprise member Plume the Puffskein.

Super Nintendo World

  • Ygor, Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s assistant will also roam the streets of Darkmoor. He’s set to be comedic, and will showcase all the pieces of people and monsters he’s discovered for Victoria.
  • For younger guests, these Universal Monsters have been integrated to be approachable for all guests, highlighting the dynamic nature of these characters in the Universal Legacy films.
  • These characters will be free roaming to help create the illusion that Darkmoor is a lived in space.

How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk

  • Toothless will be among several dragons guests will be able to interact with in the land.
  • Hiccup and Astrid will also be featured within the land’s free-roaming entertainment offerings.
  • The goal was to bring the film series iconic characters to life, which includes both humans and dragons.
  • The Untrainable Dragon is expected to be the same as its Universal Beijing.
  • However, the theater being themed to Berk is expected to enhance immersion for the show.

Celestial Park

  • Original characters created specifically for the land.
  • Hemisphere Stage will host a group of travelers that create musical moments based on their adventures through the portal. The show is also created to help engage guests in the story of why the portals exist with Chronos in alignment.
  • Another original character in the land will “collect sound to create energy" with guests, and will be incredibly interactive.
  • The entertainment will also explore the lore of the land and explain why places like Pizza Moon exist.
