The Oscar nominations were announced today. Some notes for Disney fans.
- Saving Mr. Banks was shut out from the major awards; only receiving a nomination for Best Original Score
- Frozen is nominated for Best Animated Film and for Best Original Song (Let it Go)
- Disney Animation’s Get a Horse is nominated for Best Original Short
- No Nominations for Monsters University
- Thanks to Disney’s purchase of Lucasfilm, they receive nominations for non-Disney films; Star Trek Into Darkness and All is Lost
- The Lone Ranger can be called Oscar nominated.
