Tokyo Disney Resort will be suspending the sale of alcoholic beverages from April 28 through May 11, 2021.

What’s Happening:

  • Tokyo Disney Resort sent out an announcement that alcoholic beverage sales will be suspended from Wednesday, April 28 through Tuesday, May 11, 2021.
  • Although the resort will not be closing after the new state of emergency was announced, they will be suspending alcohol sales to help limit people traveling over to other prefectures as Tokyo stores that sell alcohol will be asked to suspend operations.
  • Three prefectures that border Tokyo decided to suspend alcohol sales — Chiba (Location of Tokyo Disney Resort), Kanagawa, and Saitama.
  • Earlier this week, Universal Studios Japan announced a temporary closure due to the state of emergency in Osaka prefecture starting on Sunday, April 25, with no reopening date yet announced.
  • The state of emergency for Osaka and Tokyo was declared on Friday, April 23 to help lower cases in what appears to be a new wave of infections. The state of emergency will start on Sunday, April 25.
