- The FAQ advises that out-of-state residents should not buy their tickets online, but get them at a ticket booth where they can present their state ID and proof of vaccination with either their vaccination card or a photo of it.
- Because of the ticket availability system, Universal Studios Hollywood recommends that out of state visitors check the website to make sure there is availability before heading to the park.

Updated FAQ:
Can I now visit if I am not a California resident?
- New government guidelines now allow us to invite out of-state visitors who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and a photo ID must be presented at our front gate tickets booths prior to purchase. Acceptable forms of proof of vaccination are a vaccination card or photo/digital photo of vaccination card (including name of person vaccinated, type of vaccine provided, and date last dose administered) or documentation of vaccination from a healthcare provider, in each case showing that at least two weeks have passed since receipt of the second dose in a 2-dose series (e.g., Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) or since receipt of a single-dose vaccine (e.g., Johnson and Johnson [J&J]/Janssen).
- Tickets are subject to availability and will not be available for purchase when the park sells out. To reduce the risk of disappointment, we advise that you visit our ticket store before leaving for the park to check if the visit date is shown as “Sold Out”. At this time, tickets are not available for purchase online by out-of-state visitors, but Front Gate ticket pricing will be same as online ticket pricing for California residents (subject to change).
- If you already purchased your ticket prior to or during the time the theme park was closed (all purchases prior to April 8, 2021) and you are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 then you are welcome to visit at this time, subject to available capacity on your visit date. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and a photo ID must be shown at our front gate ticket booths prior to park entry. You will not be able to make on online reservation but you may come to our front gate ticket booth and will be given a reservation confirmation allowing you to use your ticket that day (through December 16, 2021) if the park has not sold out. Day-of reservation confirmations are subject to availability and will not be available when the park sells out.
