Marvel Studios has released a sneak peek to eager fans of the upcoming Disney+ series about the god of mischief, Loki, set to debut on Wednesday, June 9th.
What’s Happening:
- Marvel Studios has released a new clip from the upcoming Marvel Original Series coming exclusively to Disney+, Loki, where we see the titular anti-hero alongside a new character, Agent Mobius, played by Owen Wilson.
- In the new series, Loki, the mercurial villain resumes his role as the God of Mischief in a new series that takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Tom Hiddleston, who originated the role in 2011’s Thor, returns to play the character.
- Joining Hiddleston and Wilson are Richard E. Grant, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Sophia Di Martino.
- Recently, Disney+ announced Loki Watch Party Wednesdays, where fans can catch up on all the past shenanigans of the character, which launched on May 12th with Thor, and continues every Wednesday with The Avengers and Thor: The Dark World on May 19th, Thor: Ragnarok on May 26th, and Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame on June 2nd, leading up to the premiere of Loki on Wednesday, June 9th, with new episodes debuting on Wednesdays moving forward.
- It’s unclear at this time if this move will impact the release schedules of any other Disney+ projects, though it’s possible the move was made to keep the new Marvel series separate from the recently debuted Star Wars series Star Wars: The Bad Batch as well as the upcoming Marvel film Black Widow, which will debut both in theaters and on Disney+ with Premier Access on Friday, July 9.
