The Walt Disney Company’s CEO Bob Chapek recently visited ESPN’s Connecticut Campus for the first time, thanking employees for their work during the pandemic.
What’s Happening:
- Bob Chapek recently visited ESPN’s Bristol, Connecticut headquarters, where ESPN was founded in 1979, checking out the campus and checking in with leaders and employees.
- He had been scheduled to visit the campus in March of 2020 but had canceled due to the pandemic, not being able to visit until now.
- Chapek met up with ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro, leaders, and employees offering his thanks for keeping the network running during the pandemic.
What They’re Saying:
- Bob Chapek, The Walt Disney Company CEO: “I’m a big ‘challenge the status quo’ guy. But even I was surprised at how resilient and resourceful our teams can be. The folks in our broadcast business were amazing. How you all found a way to not only be on air but to make the best of the slim pickings you had was just incredible. And what I learned was that if you have the right people and you give them the worst circumstances you can still succeed.”
