Just a few days after the season finale of Marvel’s Loki debut on Disney+, we’ve already learned some interesting information regarding season two. It appears director Kate Herron will not be returning for the second season of this hit series, according to Deadline.
- Herron, who served as both director and executive producer on the first season of Marvel’s Loki, will not be returning for the second season.
- She told deadline she will instead be working on some other, yet-to-be-announced projects. When she was asked if that meant another Marvel project, she said “No, I’m just focused on my own stuff at the moment. I love Marvel and I’d love to work with them again, but my outing with Loki is what I’ve done with them.”
- Marvel has not yet provided any information regarding the second season of Loki aside from the mid-credits scene in which a follow up season was announced.
- Deadline does note however that when they spoke with Joss Whedon in 2012 if he would return to direct the sequel to the Avengers, he said at the time that he was undecided. Of course, he eventually changed his mind and went on to direct Avengers: Age of Ultron.
What they’re saying:
- Director Kate Herron: “I’m not returning. I always planned to be just on for this, and to be honest, Season 2 wasn’t in the — that’s something that just came out, and I’m so excited. I’m really happy to watch it as a fan next season, but I just think I’m proud of what we did here and I’ve given it my all. I’m working on some other stuff yet to be announced.”
