A janitorial worker contracted by Disney has been charged with sexually battering a coworker. According to The Orlando Sentinel, both the victim and the suspect, Michael Cooper, worked at Blizzard Beach and the alleged incident occurred there after hours.
From the Sentinel:
The victim told deputies he was working at the water park after closing one night in May when a new coworker, who he knew only as “Mike,” approached him and started asking sexually explicit questions, according to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. The victim said he ignored the man and kept working, but Michael Cooper, 31, was persistent, the report states. Cooper “forced” himself on the victim and started sexually battering him, the report states. The victim said he felt “threatened and unsafe” and told Cooper several times to stop and that he wasn’t interested. Cooper continued, though, and at one point asked the victim to have sex on their break, saying “it could be our little secret,” records show.
“(The victim) told him he was at work and didn’t want to do anything with him or at work,” the report states.
On Monday, Cooper pleaded not guilty to the charges and is currently being held on bail. Cooper was also arrested in October in relation to two July 2015 burglary of a Blizzard Beach gift shop in which $42,000 in sunglasses were stolen.
A Disney spokesperson says that the company that Cooper worked for is no longer contracted for their resorts.
