The magic of Broadway has returned and last night, fans of Disney on Broadway were treated to a special concert at the New Amsterdam Theatre. Four amazing actors filled the house with energetic performances of favorite Disney songs as part of the Live at The New Am: A Benefit Concert for The Actors Fund.
What’s Happening:
- The lights of the Great White Way are on again including those at the New Amsterdam Theatre.
- Following an extended closure, the New Amsterdam reopened last night with Live at The New Am: A Benefit Concert for The Actors Fund.
- The musical extravaganza was one of the first events on Broadway since the shutdown and the first Broadway performance to hire actors on an Equity contract, the union of Broadway performers.
- Live at The New Am featured performances by four Disney on Broadway stars:
- Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins)
- Michael James Scott (Aladdin)
- Kissy Simmons (The Lion King)
- Josh Strickland (Tarzan)
- The sold-out audience were serenaded with Disney hits including:
- “Beauty and the Beast”
- “A Whole New World”
- “Circle of Life”
- “Let it Go”

- Live at The New Am: A Benefit Concert for The Actors Fund will perform three more times this weekend:
- Tickets ranging in price from $79.50 to $99.50 are available now through Ticketmaster.

Good to Know:
- With the health and safety of guests, cast, musicians, and crew a top priority, all guests entering the theatre for Live at the New Am will be required to provide proof of vaccination.
- Guests under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a vaccinated adult.
