Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” Grosses More Than $90 Million Between Global Box Office and Disney+ Premier Access

Disney is not in “De-Nile” about their decision to wait to release Jungle Cruise when theaters reopened, with the action blockbuster comedy taking the worldwide top spot and grossing more than $90 million during its opening weekend.

  • It’s official, Disney’s Jungle Cruise is a hit with worldwide grosses already exceeding $90 million before the close of its opening weekend.
  • The film hit theaters on Friday, July 30th, and has grossed $34.2 million at the domestic box office.
  • Internationally, the film has brought in $27.6 million.
  • Rounding out the $90 million total is the Disney+ Premier Access add-on, which has grossed $30 million.
  • Black Widow was the first Premier Access title that Disney released earning figures for ($60 million), after which star Scarlet Johansson filed a lawsuit because her contract included a percentage of box office grosses.
  • Cruella star Emma Stone is reportedly considering a similar lawsuit over the film’s hybrid release, although Disney has not publicly shared how much that film earned from Disney+ Premier Access.
  • Dwayne Johnson has publicly shared that he has no intentions of filing any lawsuits against Disney, with his company Seven Bucks Productions having been involved in the making of the film.
  • Emily Blunt has not made any public statements, but like Emma Stone, she is reportedly considering legal action.
