It seems that Disney Theatrical has found their queen as news broke today that Broadway veteran Betsy Wolfe has been cast as the ice queen Elsa in the company’s upcoming stage production of Frozen. Wolfe is perhaps best known for her role in Bullets over Broadway — a musical based on the Woody Allen-directed film of the same name. She also appeared in the musical Up Here, which was written by Frozen co-composers Bobby Lopez and Kirsten Anderson Lopez, when the show ran at the La Jolla Playhouse last year.
Likely not by coincidence, Wolfe also happened to perform Let it Go with Bobby Lopez at a recent event at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops:

Before heading to Broadway, Disney’s stage version of Frozen will hold previews at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. While no formal dates have been announced, the production is scheduled to begin performances there in the summer of 2017 before heading to the Great White Way in 2018.
On Twitter, the actress thanked fans for their support and threw in a slight reference to the hit film in her message:
