Exciting news for Marvel fans as today it was announced that Tony Stark/Iron Man — Robert Downey Jr. — will be joining Spider-Man: Homecoming. While the film will be released by Sony and not Disney, it will be the first standalone since the two studios worked out a deal to bring the web-slinger into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As you likely know, Spider-Man will make his MCU debut in Captain America:Civil War with Homecoming expected to continue Stark’s storyline with Peter Parker.
Other Marvel heroes are also expected to join the cast of Homecoming so stay tuned for more casting news.
