Update (8/19/21): Disney has updated the DAS website with more information on the program.
Walt Disney World and Disneyland Guests who use the Disability Access Service (DAS) program will have a digital option available to use directly in the My Disney Experience app and Disneyland Resort app when Disney Genie launches later this fall.
What’s Happening:
- Disney announced various details on the new Disney Genie service this afternoon along with its two add-on services available for Guests starting this fall.
- Included in the announcement was an update being made to the Disability Access Service (DAS) program, where Guests will have a new option to enroll in the program pre-arrival and select attractions to experience directly in the app.
- This will not replace the existing, in-person DAS program available to Guests, which will remain, but gives Guests another option to use if they so choose.
- You can learn more and see FAQs on the updated website.
What’s New with the DAS Program Coming this Fall
Starting this fall, DAS will offer two new features:
- Ability to pre-register via live video call and use the DAS Advance pre-arrival planning.
- With the video call, Guests will register virtually with a Cast Member as early as 30 days in advance of a park visit.
- During the call, Guests will be able to select up to two experiences per day.
- You’ll be given a one-hour return window to redeem during the day of the visit, and selections will appear on the My Disney Experience app and on the website.
- A new way to select DAS return times through the My Disney Experience app.
- With the same-day DAS return time self-selection tool, Guests will no longer have to physically go to an attraction or experience to obtain a return time as is done now.
- Guests registered in the program will be able to make return time selections right from the My Disney Experience app during the day of the park visit.
- Once registered, DAS is valid for up to 60 days.
More on the DAS Program:
- The Disability Access Service (DAS) program allows Guests with disabilities at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort to receive a return time for attractions based on the current wait time and are issued at Guest Relations main entrance locations.
- How the DAS program works right now, Guests with DAS can visit an attraction to receive a return time comparable to the current wait time. Once the time is issued, they can enjoy other theme park activities while they wait.
- Once the time is valid, they can enjoy the attraction and receive a return time for the same or a different attraction. Only one return time can be issued at a time.
