What’s Happening:
- ABC Audio will provide three different specials to affiliates for use over Labor Day weekend, including an ABC News special on the evolving U.S. labor market, a rock and classics special presented by Speakeasy, and a country music special hosted by country superstar Cole Swindell.
- ABC News Radio presents Help Wanted hosted by anchor Cheri Preston. In this three-hour special, Preston and a team of ABC News correspondents report on America’s jobs – from the most desirable positions to the most difficult careers and some unbelievable and rare jobs in between. The program explores the shifting U.S. labor market and examines roles across all kinds of industries. The special introduces listeners to workers that make a living in vital cybersecurity positions, the growing social media influencer world, dangerous first-responder roles and more.
- Labor Day Live, presented by Speakeasy and hosted by ABC Audio’s Matt Wolfe, celebrates some of the most unforgettable live performances from rock legends such as Billy Joel, Led Zeppelin, Heart and more. The special features interviews from artists about the magic of being on stage, as well as recordings from the most iconic venues to the smallest shows.
- Country artist Cole Swindell hosts Singles Saturday Night, presented by ABC Audio’s Front & Center. In the special, Swindell takes listeners through the making of his chart-topping tracks, including his own hits and other songs he wrote that hit number one for fellow country stars like Luke Bryant, Florida Georgia Line and Thomas Rhett. The special will also give listeners a preview of his upcoming single, out Sept. 10, and feature some of Swindell’s personal favorite tracks written and recorded by other country artists, past and present.
