As we prepare for the premiere of Captain America: The Winter Soldier we thought we would share what we have recently learned about the film. Mild spoilers that shouldn’t surprise anyone are included. We will update this post if any news breaks during the premiere.
- There are two-post credit scenes, and one of them was directed by Joss Whedon
- Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier) has a nine-picture deal
- Chris Evans’ cameo in Thor: The Dark World did not count against his six-picture deal
- Directors Anthony and Joe Russo are returning to direct Captain America 3
- Captain America franchise screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are working on the Agent Carter TV series which is still in development, but not yet green-lit
- It is reported that the third film in the Captain America franchise will be released May 6,2016 which is also currently the release date for Warner Bros’ Batman/Superman movie
- Robert Redford’s character Alexander Pierce is part of the World Security Council that is seen in Marvel’s The Avengers
- Jasper Sitwell’s appearances in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are coordinated and connected
- The chaos in the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization seen in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. can be seen in the film according to Clark Gregg (Agent Coulson)
- Starting April 1, ABC will air seven episodes of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a row
