After reportedly having dropped out of the running earlier, Deadline is now being told that Michael Keaton will indeed be joining Sony’s Spider-Man: Homecoming after all. Although Sony will be releasing the film, technically putting it outside of Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe, Homecoming will follow Tom Holland as the Peter Parker that was recently introduced in Captain America: Civil War. Furthering the MCU connection, Robert Downey Jr. is set to bring Tony Stark into the franchise and Kevin Feige will be producing the flick. It is believed that Keaton will now take on the role of The Vulture in the film.
