It seems that Disney’s theme park operations keep managing to be invoked in political points as of late. Last week a former Senator recommended that Disney help the TSA figure out their line problems and now Robert McDonald, the Veterans Affairs Secretary, has likened the waits at the VA to those at Disneyland. According to the Washington Examiner, on Monday McDonald said, “When you got to Disney, do they measure the number of hours you wait in line? Or what’s important? What’s important is, what’s your satisfaction with the experience? And what I would like to move to, eventually, is that kind of measure.”
The VA has been under fire in recent months for what many politicians call its inefficiency which has led to long waits for veterans seeking care. Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, responded to McDonald’s Disney quote tweeting that some Veterans have even died before they could get the care they required by the VA:
On a lighter note, Disney does take wait times into account as part of overall guest satisfaction. In fact, “efficiency” is one of the Four Keys the company touts to its Cast Members.
