A new set of flags have been raised and are flying proudly at the entrance to EPCOT, and just in time for the Park’s 39th birthday on October 1st.
What’s Happening:
- Earlier today, Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley shared photos on his Instagram of 12 newly installed flags that feature bright colors and icons to represent the neighborhoods and pavilions at the Park.

- In his post, Riddley shares a bit of history about the early designs for EPCOT and how the logo’s five rings represent information, technology, environment, education and entertainment.
- Drawing inspiration from the classic design, Disney Imagineers revived and created new icons celebrating EPCOT’s present and future.
- During a visit to EPCOT today, the Laughing Place team noticed the flags and shared a couple of pictures on Twitter.
- Riddley joined EPCOT Vice President Kartika Rodriguez for this celebratory moment as the flags were installed to wave over the park. The 12 icons represent:
- Space
- Galaxy
- Play
- Motion
- Imagination
- World Celebration
- Spaceship Earth
- Odyssey
- Seas
- Journey of Water
- Land
- World Showcase
- This past March, temporary flags were installed featuring the colorful icons on a white flag. Now, one edge of the flag features a block color and “EPCOT” preceding each logo.
- Fans may remember seeing the logos displayed at the D23 Expo 2019.
- They can also be spotted on select EPCOT merchandise such as the beautiful new jigsaw puzzle from the Creations Shop.
- The new flags are part of EPCOT’s ongoing, multi-year transformation that will introduce new pavilions, showcase the Park’s four neighborhoods, and much more.
