RT, a Russian-government news source, reports on how a 25 year old receipt from Disney World proved that Jonathan Fleming was unable to commit the murder he has spent 25 years in jail for. He was accused of murdering Darryl Rush in Brooklyn while Fleming claimed he was in Orlando. He produced plane tickets and post cards indicating that he was on the vacation, but prosecutors stated that those pieces of evidence did not ensure he was actually out of town.
As a result of a review of the case prosecutors found that Fleming was arrested while carrying a receipt from his hotel in Florida with a timestamp that proved he couldn’t have been in New York. They also found a report from Orlando police who interviewed hotel staff where Fleming was staying.
