Albany & Thompson Brothers Headline Men’s NCAA Championship Quarterfinal Action

ESPN2, ESPNU and WatchESPN’s exclusive coverage of the 2014 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship continues with quarterfinal action Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18, from neutral sites in Hempstead, N.Y., and Newark, Del., respectively. With several top seeds faltering in the first round, Albany and the Thompson brothers will face No. 6 seed Notre Dame at 2:30 p.m. Saturday on ESPN2 and WatchESPN. Top-seed Duke prevailed and will face Johns Hopkins at noon on Sunday on ESPNU and WatchESPN.

ESPN’s top lacrosse commentating team – play-by-play voice Eamon McAnaney, analyst Quint Kessenich and sideline reporter/analyst Paul Carcaterra – will call all four quarterfinal games.

Anish Shroff will host ESPN’s quarterfinal studio coverage with analyst Mark Dixon. University of Virginia head coach Dom Starsia will join Shroff and Dixon in studio all weekend. The Cavaliers bowed out of the tournament, a 14-8 defeat to Johns Hopkins in the first round.

The National Semifinals and Championship game will be played Saturday, May 24, and Monday, May 26, from M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. The games will air on ESPN2 and WatchESPN, as well as a title game feed on ESPNU via the Spider Cam – an alternate viewing fan experience that in the past was integrated into the traditional telecast.
