Four of the guitars and one custom bass guitar used by the Mad T Party band in Disney California Adventure are set to be auctioned off by Yamaha. According to the Orange County Register, the instruments that once called the Disneyland Resort home will go to the highest bidder, with proceeds going to the Anaheim City School District Education Foundation.
Following the conclusion of Mad T Party, three of the guitars used in performances were purchased by the musicians that played them, while another will remain on display at Yahama. David Jewell of Yahama then had the idea for auction off the others instruments for education, saying, “I thought an auction of the guitars would be a good way to support getting musical instruments back into some of the schools.” Meanwhile, Kevin Rafferty Jr. of the Disneyland Resort said, “We applaud Yamaha for this generous donation to help children in our community achieve academic success, and we are pleased that our fans will have a chance to make a difference in Anaheim schools.”
