Beginning January 9, the Magic Kingdom is changing its opening procedures and welcome show. Now, guests will be allowed onto Main Street prior to opening where guests will be able to make purchases at the Main Street Bakery. Then at the park’s scheduled opening time there will be a new welcome show.
The new show is described by the Disney Parks as:
A Royal Herald will appear to deliver a proclamation and welcome a few familiar characters to the stage, officially opening the park so “the magic can begin!”
This new show replaces the long-running welcome show which was held on the Main Street Train Station. While this new process will allow guests more room prior to opening as well as additional viewing capacity for the show, it is unknown how the show will compare to its current incarnation.
