Disney’s ESPN is about to start their marathon coverage of The World Cup with a marathon of coverage from Brazil. While this is the last World Cup ESPN will broadcast for the foreseeable future, that has not stopped Disney Parks from joining their corporate siblings in celebrating the “beautiful game.”
Games will be broadcast across Walt Disney World Resorts and select bars and restaurants at Downtown Disney. Epcot, as is appropriate, is the theme park home of the event with all games being show in the Odyssey Restaurant. There is also a World Cup Experience in the Germany Pavilion and a Soccer Topiary photo op on the bridge that connects Future World and World Showcase. As I always say, it is about time Walt Disney World had a Brazilian presence :)
Downtown Disney has opened a new store, United World Soccer that features a wide variety of soccer merchandise. The new shop is on the West Side next to Disney’s Candy Cauldron. For those of you that can’t make it to Walt Disney World, don’t miss ESPN’s coverage of the World Cup in the comfort of your own home.
