Beginning today, ABC News’ Amna Nawaz goes one-on-one with influential voices in America to tackle issues dividing the nation – race, gender, economics, religion – in the ABC Radio podcast “Uncomfortable.” Each new episode features honest and in-depth conversations between Nawaz and her featured guest unpacking not just what people believe, but why people believe what they do.
“We hear a lot about how our country is divided, about how far apart we are on some of the big issues that define us, as Americans. But our divisions don’t go away if we ignore them,” says Nawaz. “On ‘Uncomfortable,’ it’s about taking a cold, hard look at where we are, as a country, and figuring out how we move forward.”
New episodes of “Uncomfortable” post every other Tuesday on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play Music, ABCNewsPodcasts.com and the ABC News apps. Additionally, a video of the episode will be available for streaming on ABCNews.com/Live the same day, and fans can use #UncomfortableTalk on Twitter to engage in the conversation.
In the first episode, Nawaz discusses race and racism in America with Jared Taylor, editor of American Renaissance, who argues whites deserve a place where they are the unquestioned majority. Yet Taylor doesn’t consider himself a white supremacist nor a white nationalist.
Nawaz also anchors ABC News’ digital and livestream coverage from politics and breaking news to entertainment events and special reports. “Uncomfortable” joins ABC Radio’s growing roster of podcasts including “10% Happier with Dan Harris,” “Robin Roberts: Everybody’s Got Something,” “No Limits with Rebecca Jarvis” and “Powerhouse Politics.”
