Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon to Test Virtual Queues Starting Today

Starting today, Walt Disney World’s two water parks — Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon — will begin testing virtual queue systems for guests. Like Disney has tried with attractions like Dumbo in Magic Kingdom, the virtual queuing system will allow guests to reserve a spot to ride without physically standing in line. This test is set to run through April 7th and includes Downhill Double Dipper, Slush Gusher and Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach and Miss Adventure Falls at Typhoon Lagoon. UPDATE: it seems that not all of these rides are testing the virtual queue at the same time (or at least not yet). For more on the test system, check out Jeremiah’s report from Blizzard Beach.

Notably, this test comes just before Universal prepares to open their anticipated water park Volcano Bay, which promises new innovations including virtual queueing.
