Following yesterday’s two-season pickup for ABC comedy Modern Family, The Goldbergs is getting the same treatment. According to Deadline, the family sitcom has been renewed for a fifth and sixth season on the network after ABC closed a deal with the show’s production company Sony Pictures. However, the site reports that a planned spin-off of The Goldbergs seems to be a no-go for now. The Goldbergs, which is set in the 1980s, stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jeff Garlin, Sean Giambrone, Troy Gentile, Hayley Orrantia and George Segal.
