As Disney’s Hollywood Studios begins its long road to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening in 2019, thankfully we are now seeing things start to open and the Baseline Tap House is a great start!
Located on the corner of the new Grand Avenue section of the park (formally Streets of New York) the backstory goes the Taphouse was previously known as the Figueroa Printing Company. This re-purposed print shop specializes in beer and wines from the Golden State of California.
This being a printing house from Los Angeles in the mid-1950s, odds are very high (since there is always a Disney tie) that this would have been where Walt and the folks from the studios would have gone to have the posters and advertisements printed up.
The Tap House not only has a great variety of drink options — you could have up to 126 different customizable beer flight options — but also has some very tasty quick bite options including the amazing cheese fondue with a pretzel that will help with all the drinks.
The Baseline Tap House will be a must-stop for those mid-day breaks at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and I am guessing will also be the place to head to while waiting in line to get into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in a few years.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a new Disney location without a tribute to its past. As most of you may remember, this was the Writers Stop shop and snack area, so if you happen to look up on the shelves of remaining print blocks, you may find some letters somewhat stand out. You may also find someone got a little artistic after a visit to Anaheim.
The Baseline Tap House opens each day at 11 a.m. in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so pretty much anytime after that “It’s Beer o’clock!” In case you were wondering, the drinks are real, so you must have ID to purchase alcohol as the sign says…pay no attention to the thumbtacks on the bottom.
