The World Series Champion Houston Astros are among several of the top teams in Major League Baseball who will battle the Atlanta Braves when the club’s 2018 Spring Training workouts begin at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. This will be the final season that the Braves hold their Spring Training at Disney.
The Braves’ spring schedule also includes multiple showdowns with the legendary New York Yankees and Washington Nationals, both of which reached the playoffs this past season. The Yankees come to town March 9 and 24, and the Nationals make two appearances, opening the Braves’ home schedule on February 26 and returning on March 1.
The Astros, who won their first World Series title in the team’s 56-year history and celebrated it afterwards with a magical parade at Magic Kingdom Park, take on the Braves at Champion Stadium in an afternoon contest on March 8.
Other key games include the St. Louis Cardinals (March 3 and 17) and the Miami Marlins (March 4) and their new ownership group led by baseball legend Derek Jeter. In all, the Braves will play 18 home games at Disney, its spring training home since 1997.
Disney character appearances and special moments such as kids running the bases after every game are some of the in-game entertainment opportunities that make Braves spring training at Disney a unique experience.
Individual spring training game tickets go on sale Dec. 11 at www.espnwwos.com/braves, through Ticketmaster outlets (800-745-3000) and at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Box Office. Tickets range from $15 (general admission berm seating in left field) to $59 (lower level reserved seats).
