During the three phases the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far, many of the Avengers including Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, and Captain America have also been seen in their own films and sequels. However, fans have long clamored for clandestine hero Black Widow — portrayed by Scarlett Johansson in a number of MCU films — to get a solo outing. Now, as Variety reports, that dream may soon be coming true as the Marvel has hired screenwriter Jac Schaeffer (“Olaf’s Frozen Adventure”) to pen a script. While this is a good step forward, the site also stresses that development is still in its earliest stages and the project has not been officially added to the studio’s “Phase Four” plans or otherwise. In the meantime, fans have a number of MCU films to look forward to in the coming weeks, months, and years including Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Captain Marvel.
