Edna Mode, Explorers Meet UP! A Great Bird Adventure, Guardians in Epcot, and More Coming to Walt Disney World This Summer

It may only be February but Walt Disney World is already gearing up for the summer season. Today the resort announced a few additions that guests can look forward to in the coming months — some of which we knew about and a few we didn’t.

Starting in Magic Kingdom, Tomorrowland will promote the release of Incredibles 2 with a “Super” celebration. Guests will party with Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Frozone, and for the first time ever, guests will get to see Edna Mode, the greatest superhero costume designer. The super heroes will interact with guests throughout the land. And the festivities culminate with a “SUPER” dance party on the Rocket Tower Stage.

Speaking of super heroes, the Guardians of the Galaxy will be invading the America Gardens Theatre at Epcot this summer. Star-Lord and Gamora will join an alien band for a party featuring tracks from Awesome Mix Volumes 1 and 2.

Then, in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Donald Duck will take over Dinoland U.S.A. for a “Dino-Tastic” Celebration for Donald Duck that will feature prehistoric elements. Meanwhile, we now know that the show replacing Flights of Wonder will be called Explorers Meet UP! A Great Bird Adventure. The show will feature Russell Dug from Up as they discover species of birds from around the world.

Finally, this summer will also see the grand opening of Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. There, guests will experience two new attractions: Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers. This Pizza Planet toy play set is loaded with aliens circling about in their flying saucers pulling along rocket ships full of guests.

Stay tuned for more news from the Walt Disney World resort as a busy summer heats up.
