Funko’s Toy Fair booth is always like a Wonderland of twists and turns. They have so many products and so many brands, but a significant portion of their business tends to have a Disney focus. They recently announced that their three Disney subscription services (Disney Treasures, Marvel Collector Corps, and Star Wars Smuggler’s Bounty) are coming to an end in 2018. However, this doesn’t mean that anything will be slowing down. In addition to the vinyl figures you typically associate with Funko, they also own Loungefly, who makes so many amazing Disney handbags.
The majority of Funko’s booth featured great items already available. I’ll offer some highlights of their collection, but first a look at everything new and coming soon.
February
The Emperor’s New Groove Pop! Vinyl collection features Emperor Kuzco, Kronk, Yzma, and Pacha. Surprisingly, Kuzco in llama form is not part of the release. I’m curious if we will see it in the final Disney Treasures release, themed to “Adventure.”
Frozen Dorbz add a new level of cuteness to Anna, Elsa, and Sven.
Pint Size Heroes Disney Wave 2 of blind bag mystery figures features Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Tinker Bell, Tick Tock, Scully, Mike Wazowski, Boo, Dumbo, WALL-E, EVE, Donald Duck, and Daisy.
Marvel Contest of Champions Pop! Vinyl collection is based on the Marvel Gamerverse and features King Groot, Venompool, Rocket & Lylla, Guillotine, Civil Warrior, and Howard the Duck.
March
Hercules comes to Pop! Vinyl and Pop! Rides. Individual figures include Hercules, Megara, Hades, Phil, Baby Herc, and Baby Pegasus. In the Pop! Rides set, Hercules is on the back of full grown Pegasus.
April
Monsters, Inc. Pop! Vinyl Wave 2 includes Boo, Sulley, Chef, and Roz.
A Wrinkle in Time Pop! Vinyl celebrates the film’s three witches, Mrs. Who, Mrs. Whatsit, and Mrs. Which. Winnie the Pooh Dorbz makes the Hundred Acre Woods gang even cuter, featuring Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger.
Aladdin Movie Moments recreates a moment from the film right before the song “Prince Ali” in which Genie transforms into a game show host with Aladdin in his new outfit at the podium.
Marvel Future Fight Pop! Vinyls feature two versions of Hulk and Captain Marvel.
Thor Ragnarok Rock Candy figures add Hela and Valkyrie to the collection.
May
An onslaught of Deadpool plush, Pop! Vinyls, and Mystery Minis hit the market. My favorite is the Mystery Mini of Deadpool as a mermaid with a harpoon gun.
June
Moana Pop! Vinyl Wave 2 features Moana in her royal headdress, Grandma Talla, Te Ka, Te Fiti, and Tamatoa.
Now Available
In addition to all of the wonderful Funko products on the horizon, I was excited by many of the currently available items and wanted to share a few with you. The main Disney table featured some amazing Loungefly bags themed to Mickey and Minnie, the Evil Queen, Nemo, Marie, and Ariel.
The Ducktales Pop! Vinyl collection took me back to my childhood with Scrooge McDuck, Webby, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Launchpad is available in the Darkwing Duck collection and a Mystery Minis collection features even more Disney Afternoon characters.
The Marvel table had more Loungefly bags that were super attractive. I really liked the Thor backpack, Loki backpack, Black Widow purse, Captain Marvel backpack, Captain America backpack, and Black Panther bag.
The Star Wars table added even more handbags themed to Princess Leia, Rey, and Ewoks.
Lastly, an 80th Anniversary Snow White Pop! Vinyl finds the princess that started it all with a blue bird on her hand.
There’s no shortage of ways to celebrate your Disney fandom with Funko and I can’t wait to see what the rest of 2018 has in store from everyone’s favorite vinyl collectible line.
