Pixar Fest has taken over the Disneyland Resort! Since starting last Friday, the celebration has not only brought both returning and new entertainment to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure but has also inspired tasty treats, fun merch, and much more. Plus, it seems like everywhere you look, Pixar-themed details can be found. Let’s take a tour of the Pixar Fest decor.
Before you even reach the theme parks, there are some Pixar surprising waiting for you at Downtown Disney. Special Pixar Fest topiaries have been installed throughout the district. There is a notable absence of these colorful shrubs anything past the Monorail station, but that area is scheduled to close in June for work on the new hotel. As you stroll through the area, you’ll notice designs meant to evoke characters from The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, and more — think of it as Disney Bounding for plants.
Also in Downtown Disney and in the main entrance esplanade, you’ll see various banners for Pixar Fest, many of which feature pairs of friends found in the Pixar films.
Outside of the parks, large Pixar Fest signs have been erected above the entry gate. Additionally, above the turnstiles and on Main Street USA, you’ll find red, blue, and gold bunting meant to represent the iconic Pixar ball.
Over at Disneyland Park, Redd Rocket’s Pizza Port has been transformed into Alien Pizza Planet. While it doesn’t really call to mind the famous Pizza Planet from the movie, there are still plenty of Little Green Men to be found. We will have more on the food of Pixar Fest, but for now, here is a look at the location’s mini-makeover.
Meanwhile, across the esplanade, the soon-to-depart “a bug’s land” is hosting the Blueberry Scout Jamboree. This event includes arts-and-crafts as well as a scavenger hunt through Flik’s Fun Fair. Participants can even claim a small prize (while supplies last, presumably).
Over in Radiator Springs, the town is hosting the Pixcar Film Festival. Punny movie posters adorn the buildings along Route 66 while fans can meet the Cars versions of Buzz and Woody and the entry billboard.
Finally, we turn at Paradise Park where Pixar Pals are meeting and greeting guests while celebrating the entire Pixar library. This is also home to the Pixarmonic Orchestra — a must-see entertainment offering presented by Tripledent Gum.
Pixar Fest continues at the Disneyland Resort through September 3rd. Plus, keep a lookout for more updates as we get closer to the opening of Pixar Pier this June.
