Disney, ABC, and Freeform have announced that a documentary titled For Our Lives: Parkland about the survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting will air on Freeform Monday, April 30th at 10 p.m.
- The film follows student survivors from Parkland, Florida school in the aftermath of the mass shooting that took place on February 14th.
- Footage for the documentary was captured by ABC News reporters documenting several students who “turned their unimaginable grief and fear into action.”
- Students featured include David Hogg, Victoria Gonzalez, Ariana Ortega, Dillion McCooty, Sam Zeif, Brooke Harrison, and others.
- Producers of the special have been embedded in the lives of the Parkland students since the tragic event.
- For Our Lives: Parkland will be hosted former Teen Vogue editor in chief Elaine Welteroth — an award-winning journalist.
- The program will provide viewers with an intimate look at the student-led meetings with state lawmakers, the resumption of classes at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School for the first time since the shooting, the national school walk-outs, culminating with the March For Our Lives in Washington D.C.
- Fact-based interstitials produced by ATTN: will air during the special and provide context to issues being addressed by the student activists, including gun laws, semi-automatic weapons, and the importance of young adult involvement in political action and policy.
- This hour-long special marks the first co-production between Freeform and ABC News.
